The context

On January 1, 2021, three villages in the canton of Fribourg — Épendes, Arconciel and Senèdes — merged into a single new municipality: Bois-d'Amont. Mergers like this always raise the same underlying question: how do you build one shared image without erasing each village's own history?

The new municipality's coat of arms and colors had already been settled by the local council. Our job was to turn them into an actual graphic system, then carry it across every touchpoint, from the website down to the recycling center. The fir tree at the heart of the logo isn't just decoration — it refers to the "Bois-d'Amont" itself, the forest that has always linked the three merged villages.

The website

The brief extended to a full website built around what a local administration actually needs: local authorities, community life, urban planning, construction permits, and an online counter. A custom illustration greets visitors on the homepage, while the online counter lets residents handle part of their paperwork without a trip to the municipal office.

Beyond the screen

The identity didn't stop at the website. We also produced the municipality's full stationery set and internal document templates, signage for several municipal buildings, public notice boards, markings for the recycling center, and livery for the technical department's vehicles. The very first issue of the municipal bulletin was laid out by our team as well, setting the editorial groundwork for the issues that followed.

The approach

  • A project completed while I was still employed at the Créambule agency.
  • One identity that had to hold together three merged villages without anyone feeling erased.
  • A graphic system built to work as well on screen as on a recycling center sign.
  • A website designed as a genuine public-service tool, online counter included.
